BIG JKPL: Tiles & Bath CC, SWB clinch victory, defeat rivals

Jammu, Jan 02: A thrilling day of cricket saw Tiles and Bath Cricket Club and Sultan Warriors Baramulla register emphatic victories in their respective matches with dominant all-round performances in the ongoing BIG Jammu Kashmir Premier League.

Tiles and Bath Cricket Club chased down a target of 155 with ease against Kanwal Tigers.

After bowling out the Tigers for 154 in 18.5 overs—thanks to outstanding spells from Kulwinder Singh (4/27) and Rajat Sharma (3/20)—the chase was led by Aman Khatri’s explosive 35 off 15 balls and an unbeaten 62 off 30 balls by Shubham Singh Pundir, who also completed 1,000 career runs during his knock. Tiles and Bath finished at 156/4 in 14.1 overs, winning comfortably with nearly six overs to spare. Rajat Sharma was named Player of the Match.

In the second encounter, Sultan Warriors Baramulla defeated Power Panthers Cricket Club by 54 runs in a high-scoring contest. Batting first, the Warriors piled up 242/3 in 18 overs, led by Waseem Kachur’s explosive 70 off 31 balls, supported by Tajamul Baba (61 off 28, retired hurt) and Asim Bashir (41 off 18).

Chasing 243, Power Panthers managed 188/9, despite a valiant 84 off 38 balls by Sameer War. Disciplined bowling from Harjinder Singh and Inam Lefty ensured the Warriors stayed in control.

Player of the Match: Waseem Kachur, for his match-winning 70 (31).

The Chief Guest for the match was Haseeb Ur Rehman IPS-DIG Railways – J&K while INS’s Editor, Sohail Khan was also present on the occassion.
