The snowfall, which began early morning, has led to a drop in temperatures and a fresh accumulation of snow in these high-altitude zones.

The renewed snowfall in these areas can impact road connectivity, particularly along the strategic Srinagar–Leh highway passing through Zojila.

Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, especially in view of potential disruptions to traffic movement and the possibility of further snowfall.

There were no immediate reports of road closure or major disruption, but authorities indicated that advisories may be issued depending on weather conditions.

Locals and travellers have been advised to exercise caution while moving through snow-bound areas.

The Meteorological Department has already forecast intermittent precipitation in parts of Kashmir, with higher reaches expected to receive fresh snowfall over the coming days.
