Speaking to reporters, the LG said that 438 appointment letters have already been issued under the revised policy, adding that a large number of innocent people have lost their lives over the years and the administration is committed to supporting affected families.

He said Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police have been directed to expedite cases by forwarding approvals to the General Administration Department, while ensuring proper verification of each case.

Highlighting the policy shift, Sinha said families of employees who died natural deaths, earlier not covered under the norms, are now being included under the compassionate appointment framework.

On the recently released film Dhurandhar 2, the LG said there is no need for unnecessary criticism, adding that efforts are underway to identify and remove elements with links to terrorism from the government system.

He said security forces, including Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CAPF, are working tirelessly under pressure to dismantle the terror ecosystem and ensure lasting peace in the region. (KNC)
