Govt Constitutes Group of Senior Engineers as Technical Inspectors for Ropeway Projects

Srinagar, Jan 14: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a Group of Senior Engineers to function as Technical Inspectors for inspection of key passenger and material ropeway projects in the Union Territory.

As per Government Order No. 57-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department, the group has been formed under the provisions of the J&K Aerial Ropeways Act, 2002. The inspectors will oversee the Passenger Ropeway Project from Bhawan to Bhairon and the Material Ropeway Project from Sair Dabri to Bhawan.

The group comprises the Chief Engineer, Mechanical & Hospital Engineering Department, Jammu; the Superintending Engineer, Directorate of Inspection and Quality Control (DIQC), J&K; and the Deputy Manager (Mechanical)/Technical Officer to the Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation.

According to the order, the designated senior engineers shall act strictly in accordance with the mandate and provisions laid down in the J&K Aerial Ropeways Act, 2002, ensuring technical compliance and safety standards of the ropeway projects.
