MeT predicts brief spell of light snow today

Srinagar, Dec 5: The Meteorological Department on Friday issued a brief weather outlook for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting mostly stable conditions with intermittent cloud cover and light snowfall over the upper reaches.

Today, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with the possibility of very light snowfall over isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir.

The MeT added that December 6 and 7 are likely to stay generally dry, while December 8 may again see partly to generally cloudy skies with brief light snowfall over isolated high-altitude pockets.

From December 9 to 13, the weather is expected to remain mostly to partly cloudy across the UT, with no major weather activity anticipated. December 14 and 15 are also expected to remain partly to generally cloudy. A similar pattern will continue on December 16 and 17, though light snowfall may occur over isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the department has issued an advisory stating that shallow to moderate fog will continue at many places in the Kashmir division and at isolated spots in Jammu, potentially affecting visibility during morning and evening hours.
