Jammu, Nov 19: Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board & Minister of State Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi attended the special event as Chief Guest at Srinagar for live release of 21st instalment of PM KISAN to farmers by the Prime Minister.
The event was organised by the ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture & Leafy-Greens at Srinagar, which was attended by the beneficiaries of the PM Kisan incentives.
Dr Darakhshan planted saplings on the occasion to mark the horticultural development in the country.
She was joined by the staff of ICAR in this plantation drive.
Later, Dr Andrabi held a detailed interaction with farmers and ICAR-CITH staff and listened to the success stories and the government initiatives and schemes which are helping the farmers in their horticultural investments and cultivations and profitable businesses related to these initiatives.
Dr Andrabi threw light on the revolution in the agricultural field during the past eleven years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “During the past one decade, Indian agriculture saw a renewed boost and technological revolution along with the welfare measures of the government for the farmers and agri businesses throughout the country. This all new developmental era has strengthened the farmer and empowered the rural farmers community,” said Dr Andrabi.
Later, Dr Andrabi along with all farmers and the staff of ICAR watched live the screening of the release of 21st installment of PM KISAN to farmers. “Eighteen thousand crore rupees were transferred to nine crore farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism, making it the world’s largest DBT initiative by any government. The Prime Minister has not only empowered the farmers through this scheme but has also ensured hundred percent transparency in the delivery of the benefits to them. This is the power of Modi’s India,” said Dr Darakhshan.
She thanked the ICAR-CITH staff & the Leafy-Greens for organising such a fruitful event involving the farmers’ community and the experts.
Dr Geetika Malik, Dr O C Sharma & Dr Javed participated as experts in the event. Dr Andrabi hailed their efforts in horticultural research and innovative approaches.
