Drug smuggling bid foiled in border village of Rajouri, 2 accused held

Jammu, Dec 16: Security forces on Monday foiled a major drug smuggling bid in Border village in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.

Official sources told GNS said that based of specific inputs regarding transhipment of narcotics a covert operation was launched by police and army in Nowhera. As searches were intensified, two persons were apprehended along with 5.5 kg of suspected Narcotics material.

The accused have been identified as Subash Chander (36) son of Pashori Lal resident of Kaneti and Sajan Kumar (25) son of Om Prakash resident of Sher.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
