Talking to reporters at his Gupkar residence, Dr Farooq as per KNO said that people have given out a decisive mandate which indicates that people have not accepted the Centres decision of August 5, 2019. “The mandate is clear and loud. I am thankful to the people of J&K,” he said.

On who would be the Chief Minister of J&K, he said his son Omar Abdullah will be head of the 90 member Assembly. “Omar Abdullah will be the CM of J&K,” he said.

Asked how he sees the mandate, Dr Farooq said that now LG and his four advisors won’t run the affairs but J&K would be run by the 90 members of the Legislative assembly who were choosen by the people. On priorities, he said NC will work to end unemployment and growing drug abuse.

Asked how he sees the support offered by various political parties, he said he was thankful to all those who supported NC in the elections.
