Delegation of Pahadi officers call on LG Sinha

Srinagar, Mar 04: A delegation of Pahadi officers called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Rajbhawan Srinagar and thanked the Central government particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for full filling the long pending demand of pahadi tribe and granting ST status.

“It was productive meeting as delegation repeated the request for sanction of the land for Pahari trust at both the capital cities of Jammu & Srinagar. LG agreed for it,” a statement issued to INS reads.

Officers further asked the issuance of the Govt Order for ST and delegation was told by LG that, it will be issued within 2-3 days by the Deptt of Social welfare, it said.

They requested for issuance of Central ST order as it does not need any rules to be made by the UT government and he agreed that it will also be looked into, the statement reads.
