Srinagar, Mar 02: The fresh snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir led to the closure of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway while the gusty winds damaged several structures in South Kashmir on Saturday.
According to INS, Sonamarg has received 2 ft snowfall while 3 ft each has been recorded at Sadhna Top and Pir Ki Gali.
Sinthan Top and Gurez also received 2 ft snowfall each, reports said.
Meanwhile, gusty winds damaged several structures in South Kashmir today.
A roof top of a house and the shops were damaged in the gusty winds in Nowgam village of Verinag.
Moreover, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway continued to remain closed for the vehicular movement since yesterday.
“The highway has been closed for the traffic in view of the landslides and shooting stones,” the officials said.
