Srinagar, Feb 1: Mother of incumbent Grand Mufti Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi, passed away at a hospital in Jammu on Thursday evening. She was 80.

A close relative of the deceased told GNS that the mother of Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam was unwell for a considerable time now. “She was some ten days back taken to Batra Hospital Jammu, where she eventually breathed her last this evening”, the relative said.

The funeral prayers to the departed soul are yet to be decided as the mortal remains are yet to be ferried back to residence in Soura (Shah Faisal Colony Opp Safa Marwa Hospital) Srinagar.

The family has shared two numbers viz. 7006399591/9906613094 for public convenience to know about the scheduled timing and venue for funeral prayers.

Notably, the deceased was the wife of former Grand Mufti J&K, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din.
