Jammu, Aug 30: At least seven persons were killed and seven others injured when a Tata sumo they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into gorge in Kishtwar district on Tuesday, officials said.

They said that the accident took place near Bunda Chatroo Changa when driver of the vehicle (JK17 -9117), a private taxi, lost control over it. Five people died on the spot and two others succumbed later while seven others were shifted to hospital by rescuers including locals, police and army, they said. Among the injured, they said, some are very critical and chances of their survival appear “slim.” A police official confirmed the accident and casualties in the accident. He said a case is being registered with regard to it.
