J&K Reports 703 Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar, July 30: Jammu and Kashmir reported 703 covid-19 cases even as two people succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 209 cases were reported from Jammu division and 494 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally 464062. Among the cases, 171197 are from Jammu division and 292865 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 109 cases, Udhampur 20, Rajouri 16, Doa 19, Kathua 6, Samba 5, Kishtwar 15, Poonch 6, Ramban 11, Reasi 2, Srinagar 240, Baramulla 101, Budgam 42, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 43, Anantnag 32, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 13 and Shopian 1.

Two deaths, both from Jammu division took the overall death toll due to the pathogen to 4770.

Among those who succumbed to the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 2341 were from Jammu division and 2429 from The Valley.

Besides, they said, 458 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—212 from Jammu division and 246 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4711 active cases— 1808 in Jammu and 2903 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 13184 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
