J&K Reports 56 New Covid-19 Cases, One Death

Srinagar, June 26: Jammu and Kashmir reported 56 new infections in 24 hours that pushed overall tally to 454798 while the death toll increased to 4756 with one fatality during the time, officials said on Sunday.

They said that 37 cases were reported from Jammu, seven from Srinagar, three each from Samba and Anantnag, two from Kulgam and one each from Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, districts and Pulwama respectively. Among the total cases of 454798, 166844 are from Jammu division and 287954 in Kashmir.

There was one death due to the pathogen reported from Jammu in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4756 persons have succumbed to the virus—2331 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 28 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—18 from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir Valley. So far 449721 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 321— 212 in Jammu and 109 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 2220 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
