Srinagar, June 2: An army soldier from Anantnag district was killed when his service weapon reportedly went off accidental at his place of posting at Uplona Baramulla, officials said on Thursday.
They said Sepoy Muneer Ahmad Ganie (13780067W), posted with army’s 52 RR, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Larikpora Anantnag of 52 RR was brought at PCR Hospital here for medical formalities.
“Reportedly on June 2, his service weapon went off accidentally while cleaning and got injured. Later on he succumbed to his injuries at a hospital,” the official sources said.
