2 Militants Killed In Gunfight At Amshipora Shopian: Police

Srinagar, Feb 25; Two militants were killed in an encounter with joint team of police, CRPF and army in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Friday, officials said.

They said a joint team of police, CRPF and army launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in Amshipora area of the district amid inputs about the presence of the militants. “Subsequently a gunfight ensued in which two militants were killed”.

“Two (militants) killed. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. Searches are going on. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet. There are reports that internet services have been snapped in the area.
