Jammu and Kashmir Reports 72 New Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Srinagar, Oct 23: Jammu and Kashmir reported 72 new covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

Among the fresh cases, nine were reported from Jammu Division and 63 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 331566.

There was no death due to the virus during the time. So far 4429—2175 in Jammu and 2254 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 34 cases, Baramulla 13, Budgam 6, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 6, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 4, Udhampur 0, Rajouri 0, Doda 0, Kathua 3, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 2 and Reasi 0.

A number of these cases were confirmed  at CD hospital’s diagnostic laboratory  and include male (60) from Handwara, female (60) from Habba Kadal Srg, three males (70, 12, 40) from Eidgah, male (40) from Kralweth, male (60) from K K Mohalla, two males (31, 35) from Qamarwari, male (43) from Kathi Maidan, female (55) from NA, two males (18, 15) from Lal Bazar, male (47) from Awantibawan, female (38) from Nowshera and male (26) from Kanitar srg.

Moreover, 80 COVID-19 patients recovered during the time, four from Jammu Division and 76 from Kashmir, they said.

So far 326275 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 862—145 in Jammu and 717 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 49 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

The government also informed that 55,281 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
