Pulwama: Only one militant body found

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that only one militant body has been recovered from debris of a house, razed during the encounter between militants and government forces at Pulwama in south Kashmir district.

“One dead body and one weapon ( a.k 47) has been recovered from the place of encounter,” SSP Pulwama said.

He identified the slain as Sajad Ahmed Shahalias Abu Mansor  of Chougal Handwara. “Dead body has been handed over to the legal heirs after legal formalities,” he said. Two other militants, claimed to be killed by police, have ostensibly managed to escape. Director General of Police had tweeted that three militants were killed in the gunfight. A civilian boy was killed and several other injured in government forces action following clashes near the encounter site yesterday.
