Bathindi IED Case: NIA Carries Reaches At 6 Locations In Shopian, Ramban

Srinagar, July 31: National Investigation Agency on Saturday said that it along with police carried searches at six locations in Shopian and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir in Bathindi IED recovery case.

The case was initially registered as (FIR No 0234/2021) on 27 June 2021 of Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu, relating to recovery of 5kgs IED from a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant in Bathindi in the winter capital of J&K.

NIA said it was a conspiracy by LeT to cause explosion in Jammu using the IED. “NIA had re-registered the case as RC-04/2021/NIA/JMU dated 19.07.2021 and took over the investigation.”

The NIA said during the searches conducted today many digital devices including mobile phones, pen drives, shells of used bullets, CDs, plastic face masks that are used during stone pelting, memory cards, hand written jehadi material, ID card of Al-aqsa media and other incriminating materials have been recovered,” the NIA said, adding, “Further investigation in the case continues.”
