DHSK Orders Addiction Treatment Facilities Functioning In Kashmir Hospitals

Srinagar, June 12: The authorities have ordered Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents to make “Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF)” functional at the already identified places in District Hospitals within a week’s time.
A circular in this regard was issued by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather after approval conveyed by National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), for the setting up of ATF in all districts of Kashmir Division.
“It is impressed upon all the Chief Medical Officers & Medical Superintendents to make “Addiction Treatment Facility” (ATF) functional at the already identified places in District Hospitals within a week’s time,” the circular reads.
In respect of District Baramulla and Anantnag, it said, the same facility needs to be set-up in SDH Sopore and SDH Bijbehara respectively.
“Further all the Chief Medical Officers & Medical Superintendents shall contact Dr. Majid Shafi, Consultant Psychiatrist, District Hospital Pulwama, who is hereby nominated as “Nodal Officer, for setting up of (ATF) in all District Hospitals.” (GNS)
