Anantnag: An army officer has been killed in the ongoing gunfight between militants and government forces in Bidoora area of Achabal in Anantnag district on Monday.

According to official sources a Captain ranking officer has died of fatal wounds received during the gunfight raging in the area since morning.

He has been identified as Captain Ketan Sharma of 19RR.

Two bodies have been spotted earlier at the spot earlier.

Fresh exchange of fire resumed later I the area in which a major ranking officer and two other soldiers were injured.
