Overnight Blaze Leaves 30 Families Homeless In Noorbagh Baramulla In North Kashmir

Srinagar, June 11: At least 18 houses were gutted in the overnight massive fire at Sweeper Colony Noorbagh Baramulla, cumulatively rendering nearly 30 families homeless, officials said on Friday.
Many senior officers from police including SSP Baramulla besides those from Fire and Emergency department oversaw the operation till the flames were brought under control at around 1:30 a.m. in the night.
Officials said that fire started due to leakage of LPG gas from a residential house and engulfed several others in the vicinity no time. Five gas cylinders are said have burst before the blaze was eventually controlled as five tenders from the Fire and Emergency department besides two from army utilized. While eighteen houses were completely gutted to leave at least 30 families without shelter, there was no loss of life even as one person from Fire and Emergency department identified as Javaid Qazi sustained injuries. One vehicle was also damaged in the blaze, they added.
