J&K Reports 1448 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, Lowest In 49 Days; 25 More Succumb To Virus, Toll 3939

Srinagar, June 5: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1448 fresh covid-19 cases, lowest single day tally in almost 50 days, even 25 more people succumbed to virus in last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said while 453 cases were reported in Jammu Division, 995 were from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 292360. It was lowest single-day spike in 49 days as 1145 cases were reported on April 17.

Regarding the COVID-19 deaths, they said, 13 were reported from Jammu Division and 12 from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 3939.

Providing district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 222 cases, Baramulla 140, Budgam 136, Pulwama 107, Kupwara 125, Anantnag 95, Bandipora 43, Ganderbal 54, Kulgam 59, Shopian 14, Jammu 106, Udhampur 28, Rajouri 80, Doda 51, Kathua 39, Samba 11, Kishtwar 28, Poonch 59, Ramban 33 and Reasi 18.

Moreover, they said, 2615 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—842 from Jammu Division and 1773 from Kashmir, leaving the total covid-19 active cases to 33276 in J&K—12229 in Jammu and 21047 in Kashmir.

They said, one new confirmed case of mucormycosis was reported today, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 15 in J&K.
