5190 fresh covid-19 cases, 54 deaths in J&K

Srinagar, May 9: Jammu and Kashmir reported 5190 fresh covid-19 cases while 54 persons succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours in last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

They said,  1770 of these cases were reported from Jammu Division and 3420 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total tally to 216932.

Providing district wise details, they said that Srinagar reported 920 cases, Baramulla 454, Budgam 508, Pulwama 158, Kupwara 277, Anantnag 415, Bandipora 85, Ganderbal 135, Kulgam 281, Shopian 187,

Jammu 658, Udhampur 179, Rajouri 211, Doda 30, Kathua 252, Samba 138, Kishtwar 32, Poonch 74,  Ramban 70 and Reasi 126.

Regarding the fatalities, they said, 32 were reported from Jammu Division and 22 from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 2726—1171 in Jammu and 1555 in Kashmir.

Moreover, they said, 2423 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—624 from Jammu Division and 1799 from Kashmir. There are 49248 active positive cases— 17262 in Jammu and 31986 in Kashmir, they added.
