Jammu: Former Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State Forest and Fisheries, Thakur Puran Singh breathed his last on Thursday in Rajouri district.

According to reports Thakur had recently come back from a religious congregation in Uttarakhand and soon after returning had fell ill.

A resident of Badhal in Budhal area of Rajouri’s Kotranka subdivision, Thakur became Member of of Legislative Assembly from Darhal as Independent Candidate.

Before joining Bharitiya Janata Party he was affiliated to Indian National Congress. He joined the BJP in 2014.
