Srinagar, Nov 05: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Pampore in South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Thursday evening.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, army’s 50RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Meej village of Pampore.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off the gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed about the exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
