Srinagar, Aug 28: Two more militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Kiloora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian, taking the number of fatalities to four so far. One militant was caught alive, officials said.
A police officer said that two more militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter in the area. One militant was caught alive, the officer said.
Earlier, two Al- Badr militants were killed in the encounter which started in an orchard of Kiloora Village.
The encounter ensued after a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area amid specific reports about the presence of militants.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, officials said. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter, they added..
