Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported one more death and 34 fresh cases of novel coronavirus on Tuesday, taking the overall death toll to 24 and case tally to over 1700.
Sources said a 90-year-old man, a resident of Khaloora Kulgam, died at SKIMS early Tuesday morning, a day after he was referred to the tertiary care hospital here from GMC Anantnag, officials said.
“The patient was suffering from pneumonia with chief complaints of fever and breathlessness,” Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS said.
He said that his sampling was done at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday and it came out to be positive at 9:08 p.m. the same day.
“The patient was then shifted to Isolation facility where he died this morning at around 5:45 a.m.,” Professor Jan added.
