Jammu, May 05: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday said to have produced a challan against the official of Block Development Office (BDO) Kishtwar, employee of Post Office Thakrai and others.

“Anti Corruption Bureau produced Challan of case FIR No.32/2017 P/S VOJ (now ACB) u/s 5 (1) (d) (c) r/w section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and sections 120-B/467/468/471 RPC before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Doda, against accused persons namely (1) Irshad Ahmed Kichloo S/O Sh. Ghulam Mohd Kichloo R/O Kichloo Mohalla Kishtwar, the then MPW Panchayat Keshwan, (2) Vijay Kumar S/O Sh. Dev Ram R/O Thakrai, Kishtwar, the then Gramin Dak Sevak, Branch Post office Thakrai and (3) Abdul Samad S/O Sh. Mohd Ramzan R/O Nagrana Keshwan, Kishtwar,” a spokesman said.

“The instant case was registered on the basis of a verification conducted into the allegations that one Abdul Samad and Officials of Block Development Office, Kishtwar/Post Office Thakrai, Kishtwar in league with each other have committed large scale bungling since 2009 and managed to open 21 fake accounts in the Post Office, Branch Thakrai without their knowledge and after opening these accounts the officials of BDO office Kishtwar prepared fake invoices and credited/deposited money in these accounts. Subsequently payment/wages amounting to Rs.4,32,327/- were released in favour of these 21 alleged fake accounts holders which were opened at Post Office Thakeri and remained operational w.e.f. 08/2009 to 04/2012. In this way, the above named accused persons in connivance with each other misappropriated the amount and caused loss to the state exchequer,” the statement added.
