COVID-19 lockdown: 7 tippers seized, drivers arrested in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Police on Sunday seized seven commercial vehicles (tippers) during nocturnal action in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
“The drivers have been arrested vide FIR No. 97/2020 U/S 188 IPC registered in police station Ganderbal,” a senior police officer said, adding, “Less number of COVID cases don’t give a certificate to violate the law. Stay home”.
The Police officer requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by the government in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. “Those who are violating the restrictions imposed under 144 CRPC will be dealt with strictly.’
The drivers who have been arrested include Sajad Ahmad Mir of Beerwah Budgam, Firdous Ahmad War of Nadiwanpora Budgam, Jan Mohammad Rather, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, both from Bemina Garipora Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh Son of Ali Mohammad of Mazbugh Sopore and Bashir Ahmad Shagoo of Shalteng Qamarwari Srinagar.
