GNS Editor-In-Chief Passes Away, INS grieved
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Tanveer-ul-Ahad, editor-in-chief of Global News Service (GNS) and a gifted journalist, has passed away. According to his friends, he was admitted to SMHS hospital where he was referred to from Handwara hospital couple of days ago. Tanveer-ul-Ahad had vomiting and diarrhea three days ago following which he was given Intravenous fluid locally but as it persisted, he was taken by the family to Handwara hospital from where he was shifted to SMHS hospital where he ultimately died.
A young man aged in his early thirties, Tanveer-ul-Ahad had prolific qualities as a journalist and would invariably get details for news with precision and that too very quickly. Before INS was started, we worked together for several years at a news agency which was later merged into a newspaper that is now published daily from Srinagar. It is hard to believe that he is not anymore with us but his wonderful memories will always stay always. May Almighty Allah rest his soul in peace and also give his family comprising three small kids and wife besides parents and his brothers’ courage to bear the irreparable loss. INS stands with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.
