Srinagar: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Monday urged Government to ensure that ample foodstuff, baby food, medicines etc were available in the Valley amid lockdown to prevent spread of coronavirus.
In a statement issued, the traders’ body said that the government should immediately restore 4G internet so that people would get updated information and advisories regarding the pandemic.
It said the government should provide free ration at doorsteps to the people under BPL categories and extend dates for filing legal compliances and other statuary reports by at least a quarter or till the situation gets normal.
“Moreover we request all the essential item shops and stores not to indulge in black marketing by escalating prices,” the KCC&I said.
It also urged the business community in particular and the public at large to come forward with their contributions and donations in The KCC&I Relief Trust for helping poor and needy patients to procure medicines and other necessary items.
