Govt converts SKIMS Bemina, CD, JLNM into COVID Hospitals

Srinagar: Government has orders conversion of SKIMS Medical College & Hospital Bemina, JLNM Rainwari and Chest Disease Hospitals in Srinagar into COVID hospitals for isolation.
The decision was taken at a review meeting under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, J&K.
The government ordered that routine activities in the SKIMS Bemina shall be closed immediately.
The meeting also decided CD hospital and JLNM Srinagar shall be converted to COVID Hospital for Isolation facilities. “All outline activities in the hospital(s) shall be closed. However, patients of CD Hospital, Srinagar will be shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar.”
JLNM hospital Rainawari shall be Converted to COVID hospital with Isolation facilities. “All routine activities in the hospital except maternity services shall be closed.”
The meeting also decided that newly constructed IPD facilities in Ganderbal, Pulwama, Shopian and Kupawara shall be utilized as isolation facilities.
“Police Hospital Srinagar shall be kept reserved for COVID isolation facilities.”
Dr. Wasim Qureshi, Registrar Academics GMC, Srinagar has been made overall in charge of isolation facilities in Kashmir division, read minutes of meeting.
