Kupwara: Teachers forum have threatened to launch mass agitation against the Education Department for failing to fill the vacant post, posting of Head teachers in state sector and pending salaries of teachers.
The teachers held a meeting today, and after wards District President Teachers  forum Mohammad Amin Khan said that they discussed  issues confronted to teachers and students which include the salary and posting of Headteachers in state sector, pending salaries of employees, shortage of DDOs in various educational zones, delay in free uniform to students.
“There are almost 33 Principals, 29 Headmaters, 375 Leacturers, 4 ZEOs, 190 Masters and 167 Teachers posts vacant in this frontier district Kupwara which is severely affecting the academics of students and normal functioning “, Amin said.
Teachers fourm has urged  the authorities to take concrete steps to resolve the issues at the earnest especially  that of Headteachers otherwise teachers fourm will have no other option than to launch a prolonged agitation against authorities.
