Kupwara: The students of Government Degree College Tangdhar protested here against Army for thrashing their professor and misbehaving with students on way to excursion at Sadhna Top Check point this afternoon.
Faculty members along with students on their way to Kupwara said that on reaching Sadhna Top, Army stopped their buses and told them that all the buses will be checked before crossing the check point.
“There was some heated argument between one of the Army men and Professor who slapped our faculty member for no valid reasons,” students said.
Students assembled and protested against the alleged high handedness of Army personnel, and blocked Kupwara-Tangdhar road.
A top cop when contacted said that, the college buses were made to wait for long due to security reasons during which there was a heated argument between soldiers and faculty members.
Police said that the situation is normal in the area after minor protests.
