Srinagar: The birth anniversary of Guru HargobindJi was celebrated on Friday with religious fervour and enthusiasm. Thousands of people thronged the Gurduwaras to attend Shabadh Kirtan and Langer. The largest gathering was witnessed at Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara at Rainawari in old city here.
Governor Satya Pal Malik and many politicians have greeted the people on the birth anniversary of Guru Hargobindji.
In his message of felicitations, Governor observed that Guru Hargobindji is an apostle of selfless service, righteousness and truth.
The Governor hoped that the celebration of this auspicious day would strengthen the bonds of amity, harmony and brotherhood and urged people to cultivate the spirit of dedication and valour epitomised by the great Guru.
The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir paid glowing tributes to Guru Hargobind ji on his birth anniversary. “Guru Hargobind Ji always fought against injustice and social inequality while dedicating his entire life to the service of people, irrespective of their caste or religion.
The teachings of Guru Ji will continue to lead the people at the path of truthfulness and righteousness, besides enlightening them about right and wrong,” Mir said in a statement
Former Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti In her message of felicitation, termed Guru Hargobind Ji a great saint and seer who preached and practised the gospels of love, oneness of mankind and universal brotherhood throughout his life.
She said that Guru Hargobind Ji inspired millions across the globe to render sacrifices for achieving the goals of justice, equality, social good and protection of fundamental rights of humanity.
General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Shehla Rashid Shora in her felicitation message, Shehla Rashid said that Guru Hargobind Singh ji’s message of humanity, brotherhood, and tolerance shall continue to inspire the world and there is a need to follow the noble teachings of the great spiritual ambassador.
