Kulgam Blast: Injured Person Succumbs, Toll Mounts To 2

Srinagar: The death toll in a mysterious blast inside the shop of a scrap dealer at Chidderban area of Khudwani in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on June 27 rose to two as one of the injured persons succumbed to injuries on Saturday.
A police officer said one of the two injured persons, Mohammad Abass Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Chidder Khudwani lost his battle for life at SKIMS here.
On Thursday, one person— Nazir Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat—was killed and two others were injured in the mysterious blast. The injured, Mohammad Abbas and Yawar Ahmad, sustained critical injuries and were shifted to PHC Qaimoh where Abbas was referred to SKIMS for specialized treatment, they said.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan has already ordered an enquiry into the incident, appointing Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam as inquiry officer. He has been asked to submit a report within seven days.
Yesterday, the government said that any person(s) acquainted with the facts of the incident and desirous to depose and record their statements have been asked to appear before the inquiry officer at the ADM’s office in Mini Secretariat Kulgam from June 28 to July 03 during office hours.
