BASHARAT RASHID
TRAL: Residents of Zrarihar village in Tral sub district staged a protest demonstration against lack of basic amenities in the area including potable water.
The residents said the locality besides pure water, lacks proper electricity, macadamized roads and other civic amenities.
To protest against what they termed as “official apathy”, the residents of tribal village Zrarihar Machama assembled on Machama-Zrarihar road and chanted slogans against the concerned authorities.
Residents complained that despite repeated assurances from officials of providing them facilities, the area still lacks basic amenities with no intervention from higher ups.
“We face immense problems due to dilapidated roads, lack of potable water besides proper electricity. We have many times requested authorities to fulfill our demands but nothing has been done so far,” a local, Mohammad Abaas Gojjar, said.
He said that if their pleas will not be redressed, they will come on main roads to block traffic.
