Gunfight erupts after militants fire upon patrolling party in Nanar Tral

Pulwama: Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Nanar area of Tral in Pulwama district on Friday afternoon after militants fired on patrolling party, officials said.

According to sources an Army patrolling party was fired upon which was retaliated by the forces leading to exchange of gunfire from both sides.

“Re inforcement has been rushed to the spot,” an official said.

According to locals chaos erupted in Bus Stand tral as reinforcement was rushing towards the gunfight site.

“Army resorted to aerial gunshots there and people ran for shelter,” they said.

The area is being cordoned off and entry and exit points are being sealed.
