Srinagar: The J&K government has ordered launching of prosecution against chief of Dukhtar-e-Milat, Asiya Andrabi, for allegedly raising “anti-India slogans like Go India Go Back” at Safa Kadal Srinagar in 2010.
According to an official order, Police Station Safakadal on 1 July 2010 received an information to the effect that in view of Pather Masjid Challo call given by the Hurriyat Conference, at Veer Chatabal a “mob mostly ladies lead by Dukhtar-e-Milat, Chief Asiya Andrabi raised Anti-National Slogans viz “Go India Go Back” etc.”
A case FIR No. 93/2010 was registered in Police Station Safakadal and investigation taken up, the order reads further.
“Based on the facts and circumstances, prima facie, a case u/s 13 UAP Act was established against accused Asiya Andrabi and investigation of case concluded as proved,” it said.
the Authority appointed by the State Government under sub-section (2) of section 45 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, independently scrutinized the ‘Case Diary’ file and all the other relevant documents relating to the case and has come to a definite conclusion that this was a fit case for accord of prosecution sanction against the accused for commission of offences punishable under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, it said.
“After perusing the Case Diary, the relevant documents and also taking into consideration the observations/views of the Authority appointed under sub-section (2) of section 45 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the State Government is of the view that there is sufficient material and evidence available against the accused person for her prosecution under the aforesaid provisions of law,” the government said and accorded sanction for launching prosecution against her in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 45 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
