Prof Talat reviews functioning of Leh Campus

Srinagar: Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad who just returned from his two days visit to Leh has impressed upon the faculty of Satellite Campus – Leh to actively play its role in improving the quality of higher education of Ladakh region.
Prof. Talat directed the faculty members to provide quality facilities to the students and researchers at the Campus. In view of its geographical location Prof. Talat emphasized to introduce interdisciplinary courses like Geo-Tourism and Eco-Tourism at Leh Campus. On the occasion Prof. Talat declared the Leh Campus, University of Kashmir a “plastic-free” zone.
Addressing the faculty, Prof Talat reiterated his commitment to ensure sustained growth and progression of all the satellite campuses in line with the university’s mission of providing higher education at the doorsteps of its aspirants. Prof Talat also assured that University is tirelessly making efforts to provide all the required infrastructure and facilities for the staff and students of Leh campus. Faculty members of the Campus also put forth their suggestions on improving the academic environment at the campus.
Along with the staff and students of the Leh Campus a field visit was also undertaken to the adjoining areas of the Leh Campus.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor was accorded a warm welcome at the Leh campus, where the institution’s Rector, Prof Farooq Ahmad Khan, briefed him in detail about the institutional progress.
