Army resorts to aerial firing after being stone pelted in Aripora Shopian

Shopian: Police on Thursday said that the Army patrolling party while passing through the Aripora area of Shopian had come under severe stone pelting and not under any militant fire.

Police said that certain sections of media reporting about militants firing on government forces in Shopian is incorrect.

“Army patrolling party came under severe stone pelting at Aripora Shopian, the army retaliated by firing aerial shots,” they said.
