Jammu: Police has arrested five bovine smugglers and claimed to have foiled the smuggling bid in Poonch district of Jammu division of the state.

The bovine smugglers were arrested on Friday evening, officials said.
They said that following a tip-off about illegal transportation of animals, five Kashmir bound vehicles were intercepted at different places.
“50 animals were recovered from these vehicles,” officials said, adding that they lacked any legal permission of transportation.
The arrested have been identified as Mohd Sageer, Ghulam Murtaza, Ghulam Mustafa, Mohd Maroof and Mohd Amin.
Their vehicles have been seized.
