Jammu:  Vehicular movement on the strategic Srinagar Jammu highway was halted following fresh landslide in Ramban district on Thursday..

An official said that landslides and shooting stones at Iron Stand Digdol blocked the highway last evening and men and machinery have been deployed to clear the blockade.

He said around 1500 heavy motor vehicles and 300 light motor vehicles are stranded between Seri and Digdol areas.

“Efforts are being made to clear the highway.  No vehicle will be allowed to ply towards Ramban from Udhampur and Banihal side,” he said.
