BJP leader shot dead in Anantnag

Srinagar: A BJP leader who had unsuccessfully contested assembly polls from Dooru constituency in 2008 and 2014 was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his home in Nowgam village of Verinag, Anantnag district on Saturday evening. Sources said that District Vice President of BJP Gul Muhammad Mir (60) son of Abdul Karim Mir was fired upon by suspected militants at his home, leading to his on the spot death.
