Srinagar: Kashmir Valley continued to experience below normal night temperatures despite improvement in the weather.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius against 9.7 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the season.
The official said that Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 6.2 against 8.5 degrees Celsius normal during the night. The mercury in Kokernag town in south Kashmir last night settled at a low of 5.8 degrees Celsius against normal of 8.4 degrees Celsius, the official said.
The famous health resort of Pahalgam, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 2.8 degrees Celsius against normal of 4.9 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a minimum of 5.8 degrees Celsius against normal of 8.4 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Gulmarg, the famous skiing-resort in north Kashmir, witnessed a low of 2.5 degrees Celsius against 4.3 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the year.
