Former Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday held a rally in volatile Shopian district and said that the party will scrap Public Safety Act once voted to power.
Omar was addressing a poll rally gathering at circuit house here.
No mother will have to look for their children in jails if we are voted to power and for it this parliament election would serve as a semi-final,” said Abdullah.
“These elections are very crucial because it is being fought to safeguard the special status of the state,” he said.
Shopian will go to polls on May 6.
