Kupwara: Aspirants for porters job in Army on Tuesday protested inside premises of 17 Infantry Batalion at Lawoosa area in Kupwara alleging that those who have qualified for the job have been dropped by the Labor Office.
Demanding inquiry into the selection aspirants for the Porter Job from Lawoosa, Nowgam in Handwara held a protest.
“Those who could not qualify the fitness test held on 15, 16 and 17th of April are named in the selection,” they said.
The protesters said that those who qualified in the test have been declared unfit for the job.
They alleged that their is a nexus between the persons and demanded an impartial inquiry in the selection list.
“Department has hired porter from other parts of the this district which is illegal. There are almost 200 post vacant for porter,” they sdaid.
They urged Army to hold an inquiry into the selection list of porters.
