Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked SKIMS Soura not fill up the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine under Open merit category which was advertised last month till further orders from it.
Hearing a petition filed Nowhseen Hamid Bhat, the court on February 18 asked Additional Advocate General Shah Aamir to seek instructions regarding the status of the selection process with reference to advertisement notice on 05 October 2016. When the matter came up for hearing before Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, the SKIMS Soura informed in reply filed by it that the matter has been taken up with MCI for clarification.
Advocate Mian Qayoom, counsel representing the petitioner submitted that during pendency of the petition, the respondents have issued another Advertisement Notice bearing No. 01 of 2019 dated 02.03.2019, whereby, applications have been invited from eligible candidates for filing various vacant positions including three posts of Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine viz one post under OM category, one post under RBA category and one post under SC category.
He further submitted that the post of Assistant Professor (Open Merit) in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine is the same post which is the subject matter of advertisement notice of 2016.
The court issued a notice which was waived by Government Advocate Asif Maqbool on behalf of respondents. He sought and was granted three weeks’ time to file objections to the interim application.
“Meanwhile, the respondents shall not fill up the post of Assistant Professor (Open Merit) in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine under Open merit category, advertisement in terms of Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2019 dated 02.03.2019, till further orders from this Court,” the court ordered.
