Sopore: Women of Mahrajpora Sopore have to walk one to two kilometers every day to fetch portable water for their households. For past six years Government has been unable to procure seven pipes to connect the village with water scheme.
From past six years there is no portable water supply to area as Public Health Engineering (PHE) department began laying new pipes for the area.
“The department while laying down the pipes fell short of seven pipes that would connect the village to supply line,” residents told INS.
Six years have passed since, and PHE is yet to lay the missing pipes.
Exen PHE Syed Abdul Rashid Bukhari claimed ignorance about the issue and claimed that they can provide the pipes.
